On Tuesday evening at 19:30, there will be a talk from Sustrans Ben Sherratt who recently broke the 48 hour MTB record here in Brighton. He covered 619km and that was on a singlespeed bike. He will also be talking about his work with Sustrans getting kids on bikes. The event is free at the Velo Café Brighton.
Updated, here is a quick message from Ben:
Hi
Thanks so much to all of you who came and supported me on my little ride around the park the other week. If you haven’t heard I managed to beat the World Mountain-bike 48 hour distance record with 384.7 miles covered, that is 619 km or from Brighton to Cockermouth! Much more important than that, we managed to have a fantastic event in Stanmer Park, Bikestock where hundreds of kids from Brighton and Hove schools came as teams and tried to better my record mileage… We are still counting the miles and money raised but early indicators suggest that I was well and truly beaten by a few schools!
To celebrate Bikestock, Sustrans and a life on bikes, please come along to The Velo Café, in The Level Brighton for a little insight into what I do and why I love doing it!
Check out these ace little vids to give you an idea of what I do…
