Velo Baggareur has a new jersey that is making its way out there. The club was founded just over a year ago by Tim Ives and Andy Bristow who are both long term, and passionate cyclists. They strongly believe in cycling clubs and are keen to promote this, and cycling in Sussex. The original idea was to stage various events, which would provide value for money, good racing, and a bit of fun.
Their first event, “Festive10”, was held in December last year. The event was a 10 mile off road TT from Botolphs to Chantry Hill, Storrington. The next event will be a Women’s 3 up TTT held in conjunction with the Surrey League on the 30th August at Coolham. In January 2015 Velo Baggareur will host their first Cyclocross at Sumners Ponds Barns Green, as part of the London CX League. The Club also do a regular Sunday club run from The Café in Horsham Park, again all welcome.
They have no membership fees, no rules (apart from ride sensibly), rather it’s just all about the cycling. They do not promote Sportives! Instead they are keep things simple, and enjoy themselves. The new kit was designed by Andy Bristow, and Lois and its available to anyone who wants to purchase the it, as well as the membership being open to all.
